Pro Tip: How Do I Incorporate Memorial Tributes? The Dubsdread Catering Event Team weigh in with professional advice for this often-asked question.

Your wedding day is bound to be one of the most memorable and love-filled days of your life. You will be surrounded by family and friends all celebrating you and your partner. Amidst all the ceremony and the reception celebration, there are many smaller opportunities to cherish a few extra special moments, such as a first look, first dance, or even a memorial tribute.

After “seeing it all” in event planning, our Dubsdread Catering team shares their experiences and Pro Tips to consider.

A newer concept that is gaining popularity, adding a memorial table to your special can be a heartfelt addition to any wedding. What exactly is it and what is the best way to incorporate it?

A memorial table is a display that is set aside to remember your loved ones, and for them to be a part of your special day while they may not be physically present.

If you decide to pay tribute to them with the traditional memorial table, consider displaying the following:

  • Your favorite photos of them
  • Candles
  • Their favorite flowers
  • A poem
  • A memory book
  • Their favorite cocktail

If this table doesn’t sound like something you want to do, don’t worry! There are many other ways to honor your loved ones beside a table:

  • Reserve an empty seat at the ceremony or reception
  • Include a note about them in your wedding day program
  • Incorporate an item of theirs into your outfit (hair clip, jewelry, a photo of them around your bouquet, pinning a photo to your handkerchief pocket)
  • Play their favorite song
  • Incorporate their favorite flowers into your floral arrangements
  • Have one of their favorite recipes served
  • Take a moment of silence

Although the day may be difficult without them by your side, having a way to remember them may make things a little easier.

We know how important it is to honor your loved ones who have passed away at your wedding. Whether you choose a memorial table, a reserved seat, or other tribute, our experienced team at Dubsdread Catering is with you every step of the planning process and will share our experience and ideas for making every part of your event special to you, your partner, and your guests.
