Five Questions with Wedding & Event Coordinator Kristen Berry:
How many years have you been with Dubsdread Catering?
I have been working for the Dubsdread Catering Team for just over a year now. I started as a Catering Captain and have now transitioned into a Wedding & Event Coordinator.
What is your college and/or life experience that prepared you for this position?
I graduated with a degree in the arts field and have spent the past decade alternating between jobs in the arts and hospitality sectors. Ultimately, I found that I preferred the people-oriented nature, pacing, and problem solving that comes with working in the service industry.
What are your plans for your future career/personal growth?
I love learning and trying new things, so as far as the future is concerned, I just want to keep growing. Ideally, I when I move onto the next learning opportunity, I leave everyone and everything around me in a better condition than where I entered from.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I moved back to Florida in 2021 to spend more time with family and friends, so being with them during my free time is most important. I love traveling and exploring new places, as well as cooking and working on creative projects during down times. When I’m at home, I’m hanging out with my two cats Diana and Henry.
What do you enjoy most about your position?
It’s a very creative role. I love getting to facilitate realizing someone’s vision from beginning to end, and that the end is a party, a joyous occasion. It’s an honor to be a part of something so personal.
