Every love story has its own spark — a single moment that changes everything — and for Chris and his bride, it all started with a glance across a bar in Winter Garden. What began as a simple evening at Miller’s Ale House soon unfolded into a connection stronger than language, carried by translated conversations, shared smiles, and a feeling neither of them could ignore. From that unforgettable night to a breathtaking proposal in Seattle and a wedding day filled with heartfelt meaning at Historic Dubsdread, their journey is one of romance, destiny, and the kind of love that feels beautifully meant to be. Here’s a closer look at the moments that shaped their story.

Pre-Wedding Experiences

How did you two meet?

It all began on May 10th, 2023, in a place I never imagined would become the start of something so special — Miller Ale House in Winter Garden.

I was sitting at the bar, enjoying the evening, unaware that destiny had other plans for me. In the corner, surrounded by his friends and laughter, Chris couldn’t stop looking at me. It felt as if the world had paused, just so our eyes could meet again and again.

After a while, he offered me a cocktail — a simple gesture that broke the distance between us. When he came closer, we quickly realized there was something that separated us: the language. But that didn’t stop us; it actually made the night unforgettable.

With a charming smile, Chris pulled out his phone and used the translator all night long. Between translated phrases, laughter, and countless shared glances, the connection felt effortless — as if words weren’t even necessary.

Before the night was over, Chris asked for my number. And from that moment on, we started talking, getting to know each other, and writing our love story — one that began with a cocktail, a translator, and a look that changed everything.

When did you know you had found “the one?”

I knew it the moment I realized how much Chris values family.

That touched my heart deeply, because I live far from mine and I always miss them. Seeing how much he loves his family — and how, even after losing his parents, he still keeps such a beautiful relationship with his siblings — made me admire him even more.

In Chris, I found a man with a kind and loyal heart, full of love and compassion.

And beyond all of that, he has always made me feel like his queen, caring for me, respecting me, and loving me in a way that makes me feel at home, no matter where we are.

Tell us about the proposal! Where did it happen and how did it go?

The proposal took place in Seattle, a city I had always dreamed of visiting. I chose it because it was a special destination for me, and we were about to celebrate two years together. We planned our vacation with so much excitement, I never imagined that Chris had already arranged the most beautiful moment of our lives.

Seattle also held a deep meaning for him. Chris’s mom, who passed away from cancer, had her transplant in that very city. Going back there brought many memories to his heart, but also a sense of peace.

When I told him I wanted to visit Seattle, he knew it was the perfect place and the perfect moment. He was already ready to propose — and he wanted to do it in a city that had marked his story, so it could now also become part of ours.

The proposal happened at Alki Beach, WA, a beautiful spot overlooking the entire Seattle skyline, with a breathtaking view that made the moment even more magical. As we stood there, surrounded by the sound of the waves and the city lights in the distance, Chris came closer, looked into my eyes, and said it was the moment, that he loved me, and asked if I would be his wife. It was a moment filled with love, tears, and pure emotion. Under the Seattle sky, with the city shining behind us, I knew that everything in my life had led me to that exact instant — to him.

Was there a special meaning behind your engagement ring or the location of your proposal?

Yes, definitely. The location held a very special meaning for both of us.

Chris chose Alki Beach, WA, because he used to go there with his family after his mom came out of the hospital. That place was filled with memories, family love, and moments that shaped his life.

He wanted to choose that moment and that place to propose to me, to seal our love in a space that had already witnessed so much care and hope. It was like transforming those memories into something new and beautiful — our own story, full of love, commitment, and a future together.

The engagement ring symbolizes all of that: the union of our lives, the strength of the love we share, and the desire to keep building memories together. Every time I look at it, I remember not only that magical moment of the proposal but everything that led us there and all that still awaits us.

Wedding Planning

What was your overall vision or theme for the wedding?

Every woman dreams of getting married and having the perfect day, and I was no exception. With the help of my wedding planner, Mari Bonachea, I only shared the general idea I had, and she took care of everything else: finding the ideal venues, organizing visits, and guiding me through every detail.

We visited several places, but when we arrived at Historic Dubsdread, I immediately felt that it was the perfect place for my wedding. There was an instant connection; I could imagine myself walking toward Chris, surrounded by all our loved ones, and it felt as if that place had been made just for us. From that moment, I knew that our special day would come to life there.

Every corner seemed to tell a love story, and I could perfectly picture every detail of our big day there. Historic Dubsdread complemented everything I had ever dreamed of — elegance, romance, and that cozy touch that made the place feel like a dream come true.

The moment I walked in, I knew it was “the one” — the perfect setting to begin a new chapter with Chris.

What were your top 3 priorities during the planning process?

During the planning process, our three main priorities were to create a celebration filled with love, authenticity, and meaning.

The first priority was to make sure that our wedding truly reflected who we are as a couple — we wanted every detail, from the music to the atmosphere, to tell a part of our story so that everyone could feel the love that unites us.

The second was to make sure our guests felt special and enjoyed the day as much as we did, surrounded by good energy, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

And the third, without a doubt, was to enjoy the journey itself. We wanted to embrace every step — from choosing the venue to the final touches — with excitement and gratitude, remembering that the most important thing wasn’t perfection, but the love that brought us to that beautiful day.

What was it like working with a wedding planner?

I was lucky enough to work with the best wedding planner, Mari Bonachea. From the very first moment, she understood exactly what I wanted. I showed her the colors I envisioned, told her a little about myself, my style, and what I dreamed my special day would look like.

Mari didn’t just understand my vision — she took it to another level. She used all of my ideas and made them even better with her creativity, elegance, and attention to detail. Everything I had imagined, she transformed into something even more beautiful than I could have ever dreamed of.

The most magical part was that I didn’t see anything until the wedding day. It was a complete surprise, and when I walked in and saw how everything had come together, I was deeply moved. Every corner reflected my essence, our love, and Mari’s incredible dedication.

Without a doubt, working with her was the best decision — she made the most perfect day of my life come true.

How did you stay organized and manage stress during the planning process?

Honestly, I never felt stressed at all — my amazing wedding planner, Mari Bonachea, took care of everything. She handled every detail so perfectly that all I had to do was enjoy the process and trust her vision. Thanks to her, planning the wedding was just as magical and stress-free as the big day itself.

Wedding Day

Describe your wedding-day look: what you wear and why you chose it.

When I went to look for my wedding dress, I instantly fell in love with the one. I’ve always loved things that are simple yet elegant, and this dress captured that perfectly. Its stunning mermaid train made me feel both graceful and powerful — exactly how every bride should feel on her wedding day.

My hair and makeup were the perfect complement — soft, timeless, and radiant, with a delicate touch that highlighted my natural beauty. Every detail came together beautifully, making me feel like the most confident and glowing version of myself.

How did you choose your wedding colors, florals, and décor?

My favorite colors are white and pink, so I knew they had to be the dominant colors in my wedding. I gave some ideas to my wedding planner, but she took them and made them even better, making everything look perfect. When I saw the decoration come to life, it exceeded all my expectations.

What did you think when you first saw the decorated reception space?

I waited to look until after we were married. I didn’t want to see it before because I wanted it to be a surprise, and I trusted Mari 100%. I had the time to appreciate every detail, and it felt like being inside a dream come true. Everything was so beautiful and thoughtfully arranged that it made me feel even more special and happy in that unique moment.

What was the most memorable moment of the day?

The most memorable moment of the day was seeing the most important people in my life gathered there, celebrating with us. Getting married had always been my dream, and experiencing it with the person I love made everything even more magical and special. I felt immense happiness sharing that unique moment, full of love, laughter, and emotion, knowing we were beginning this beautiful chapter of our lives together.

What songs did you choose for your ceremony, first dance, etc.?

Chris dedicated the perfect song to me when we celebrated our first month of dating; that song had to dominate.

Ceremony:

Bridal Party Processional: “Marry Me” by Train

Bride’s Processional: “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri

Bridal Recession: “Marry Me” by Bruno Mars

Reception:

Bridal Party Introduction: “Mi Gente” by J Balvin & Willy William

Newlyweds Introduction: “Mambo No. 5” by Lou Bega

First Dance: “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran

Cake Cutting: “Sugar” by Maroon 5

Bouquet Toss: “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” by Shania Twain

Garter Toss: “Let’s Get It On” by Marvin Gaye

How did you make the reception fun and unique for your guests?

It was very easy—Chris and I come from different countries, languages, and traditions, and bringing his family and friends together with mine allowed everyone to learn about and enjoy each other’s customs. We had an absolute blast dancing salsa, reggaeton, electronic music, and all the styles we love. The energy, laughter, and joy of seeing everyone having fun made the reception truly unique and unforgettable.

Photo Tips

Do you have a favorite wedding photo? What’s the story behind it?

Yes! This photo reflects our love in a truly authentic way, is beautiful, perfect, and completely spontaneous. It captures a moment of pure happiness and genuine connection between us, full of tenderness and joy. I have it as my phone’s profile picture, and every time I see it, it reminds me of that perfect day in our lives, making me feel so lucky to share my life with him.

Any advice for couples on working with photographers?

Absolutely: let yourselves go, enjoy your big day, and don’t stress. My advice is to fully trust your photographer, relax, and be yourselves in front of the camera. The most authentic and beautiful moments happen when you laugh, look at each other with love, and live every moment with an open heart—those are the photos that truly capture the essence of your love.

If you could change anything about your day, what would it be?

I wish I could have had my parents with me that day. Due to visa issues, they couldn’t attend and could only experience the moment through a camera. I missed them so much, but I know they shared the same emotions as I did, and in a way, they were present in every smile and every special moment.

What advice would you give to other couples planning a wedding?

My advice would be to fully enjoy your big day, hire an excellent wedding planner like I did, and choose a venue that truly reflects your love. For us, without a doubt, the perfect place was Historic Dubsdread, which added a magical and elegant touch to our celebration, making every moment even more special and unforgettable.
