Pre-Wedding Experiences

How/where did you get engaged?

We got engaged at Magic Kingdom in front of the castle, which has always been a place close to our hearts. We met years ago at work and after lose touch for a bit, had an chance meeting at Magic Kingdom and our love affair began.

What are you most excited about for your wedding day?

We’re both excited to see our families come together and celebrate our love.

What aspect are you excited to plan the most? (ceremony, food & beverages, photographer, DJ)

The ceremony has always been so clear in my mind so I am definitely most excited to plan that. I have certain expectations and I know I’ll be able to have them met with the beautiful venue at Highland Manor.

Wedding Planning

How do you feel the planning is going?

The planning has been going better than expected. The vendor list provided by Highland Manor made things a lot easier than we expected them to be. As people who are planning the wedding ourselves, having that as a way to guide us was quite helpful.

What have you found to be more difficult than you expected?

Thinking of songs for our playlist and ceremony has been much harder than we expected. While we’ve listened to songs and thought of them for one reason or another, none of them have been right for our special moments. Thankfully we think we’re starting to find some for the list.

What has been more fun about the process than you expected?

We’ve been taking dance lessons to get us prepared for our big day, and make sure we look good out there on the dance floor. We’ve had a blast with our lessons and are looking forward to showing off our new moves.

Wedding Day

What was the best, most memorable part of your big day?

The best part of our day was sharing our vows with all of our loved ones there with us.

If you could change one or two things about your event, what would they be?

Honestly, we wouldn’t change a thing. Almost everything was perfect, and no one has control over the bride’s mother.

Is there any advice you would give other couples planning their event that you wish someone had told you?

The best advice we got was toward the end. On the day, there’s very little that you can do to change things if they go wrong and you just need to let it go with the flow. What’s done is done, but there will always be nerves even if everything goes right. Bounce and breathe was advice given to us by our officiant, and it was endlessly helpful to us. Just the act of letting your body feel the moment and taking a breath to just let go was the best thing we could do and got us ready for that trip down the aisle.
