ONE YEAR OUT:

How/where did you get engaged?
We were visiting the city for my birthday weekend and while strolling through Central Park, he stopped and asked a bystander to take our picture. While posing for the picture, Shayne got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!

What are you most excited about for your wedding day?
All of it! Getting married under the beautiful oak tree at The Highland Manor, having our friends and family there to celebrate, eating the delicious food, and getting pampered. We have been together for more than eight years and have been dreaming of this day for a long time.

What aspect are you excited to plan the most? (Ceremony, Food & Beverages, Photographer, DJ)
The food, of course! We are both foodies and can’t wait to do our tastings as we get closer to the wedding.

WEDDING DAY:

What was the best, most memorable part of your big day?
The ceremony. We have been waiting for this day for so long and it was finally here! Once my dad and I reached the aisle and I could see Shayne, our eyes locked, and he was all I could see. He looked so handsome, and, in that moment, I felt like the luckiest girl. His expression was one I’ll never forget; one of pure love and emotion. To be under that beautiful oak tree, marrying the man I love while surrounded by our friends and family was by far the best and most memorable part of the day.

If you could change one or two things about your event, what would they be?
Absolutely nothing. From start to finish, the wedding went off without a hitch! I wouldn’t change a thing.

Is there any advice you would give other couples planning their event that you wish someone had told you?
Hire a videographer! The day will go by so fast and there will be a lot you won’t see. The videographer will be able to capture all of that for you. As the bride, I didn’t get to see anyone walking down the aisle, but the videographer was able to capture all of that for me. The videographer was able to capture the wedding from a different perspective than the photographer and was worth every penny! Other than that, my advice is to relax and try to soak up as much of the day as possible.
